The work has started on the Pine Island Road widening project….
The long anticipated project is finally here. The road will go from 2 lands to four and will include an outside four-foot paved bike lane, storm water ponds, and roadside swales. Workers have been out relocating utilities and removing vegetation. The road is planned to be widen between Chiquita Boulevard and Burnt Store Road.
New growth opportunists are on the way…. A super Wal-Mart is anticipated once the project is completed. The project should be completed by late 2014 or early 2015.
Project cost is estimated at $8.1 million.
